It’s a CC Cream Craze

Studio Gear CC Cream SPF 20 REVIEW

First there were BB creams, and now there are CC creams! It’s an Alphabetical Cream Craze!

Studio Gear CC Cream

This is the 1st CC Cream that I’ve tried.  I have several BB Creams.  With us just having been through Fall/Winter, I chose to go back to my medium/full coverage foundations. Now that it’s  “supposed” to be Spring and soon-to-be Summer, I’ll go for light foundations because I’m in a very humid part of the world and I don’t want my foundation melting off my face and looking crazy on the streets and beaches.

My skin type is Oily so I’ll say this is for all skin types. I haven’t had any problems with it clogging up my pores.  It’s light based and the texture is nice and smooth.  The unique thing about Studio Gears CC Cream is that it comes out as an off-white colored cream.  Once you spread it though, it changes shades to blend into your skin.

Studio Gear CC Cream

It comes in 3 shades: Linen, Natural, and Wheat.

I went for the Wheat shade since I’m a medium shaded Doll. (MAC NC30-35, Hourglass Immaculate in Honey, Dior 400)

So like i said before, this is a unique formula using microencapsulated pigments which offer up to 72 hours of hydration.
Hydrating CC Cream transforms and enhances your complexion in an incredibly light, smooth formula. This foundation simultaneously fights aging, retains moisture, and covers and treats blemishes with a non-oily, perfectly radiant finish.

The way that I’ve been applying it is that I place the Studio Gear CC cream on a candle glass topper and use my Sigma F80 or Beauty Blender to spread and apply.

Studio Gear CC Cream

You see how it’s already changing shades?

As of now, since it’s still pretty cool outside, I’m still going for medium to full-coverage so I put the Studio Gear CC Cream on the areas that I need more moisturizing.  I recently used a product that made my skin have a full-blown anxiety attack on me. (It’s not a pretty site at all!)  Then I apply my foundation over the Studio Cream CC Cream.

It’s lasted me at least 12 hours coverage without any creasing or shifting.   I take my makeup off right when I get home so I’m sure it lasts longer.

The Key Benefits:

  • Prevents fine lines and wrinkles with collagen-building ingredients
  • Restores skin elasticity by promoting moisture retention
  • Brightens and illuminates skin with a non-oily, complete coverage application.
The only downfall is that it only has the 3 shades to choose from.  I wouldn’t recommend it to darker shaded individuals. Hopefully they’ll create more shades in the near future.

Once you open the jar, it smells AMAZING!!  It’s super lemony.   It’s almost as you just walked into a field of fresh lemon trees and went to town squeezing the lemons.  It’s just an amazing fresh scent.
It feels like a dry scrub with sugar granules.
To use it, make sure your face is a little wet.  Wet your hands, massage between your palms to activate the foaming action.  Apply in circular motions on your face.  Use it once a day, either in the morning or evening, 2-3 times a week depending on your skin sensitivity.
Once you start rubbing your hands together with the scrub in them, it starts to foam and the granules start to dissolve.
Your skin feels squeaky smooth and clean right after you use it.
I read tons of reviews and this was rated 5 stars pretty much everywhere BUT
of course another FAILED face exfoliator for me.  I so wanted this to work out for me because it smells AMAZING!!!  Seriously amazing!
I’m embarrassed to show these pictures but the Sukiface exfoliator foaming cleanser caused some cystic like acne.
Like I said, I’ve heard great things but this just didn’t work out for me.  I used the exfoliator twice.  It smells so good though.
Off to the drawing board for a new face exfoliator.
If yall know of any, leave me your suggestions!

Origins GinZing Refreshing Eye Cream Review

I received a little sample of the Origins GinZing Refreshing Eye Cream from my Sephora perk points and I’ve used it for a month now.

Origins GinZing Refreshing eye cream

I’ll start off with what it claims its supposed to do.  Then I’ll go into my personal review.

The website it says the Origins GinZing eye refreshing:

What it is:

What it is formulated to do:
Late night? Long flight? Look tired all the time? This natural, clinically-proven morning-after eye cream instantly reduces dark circles. Unsightly bags and puffiness virtually disappear. And Origins’ proprietary complex of caffeine from coffee bean, Panax ginseng, magnolia extract, and natural optic brighteners rapidly wakes up, refreshes, and restores radiance to tired eyes. Best for all skin types.

What it is formulated WITHOUT:

Research results:
– 86% brighter appearance
– 80% reduction in puffiness

Now on to my personal review of the Origins GinZing Refreshing eye cream.

I chose this as my perk point freebie from Sephora because I love Ginseng skin products and I love the smell of Ginseng skin products.  BUT I have NOT seen any results of improvement from using this other than the fact that I’m tricking my brain since I’m using an eye cream, that I’m doing something good for my skin.

When I wake up in the mornings, I do my normal routine of washing my face, then I apply this by dabbing a little under and around my eyes.  NO unpuffiness going on, on this face.  NO covering of the dark circles…. Same Ole, Same Ole.

The cream itself has tiny lil speckles of glimmer and that’s what is supposed to “Brighten” around your eyes, but again with the brain tricks…. It’s only an illusion.

The shelf life of this product is 6 months and that gets me wondering on the efficiency of the essential oils that are in this jar???

I do know that I wouldn’t purchase the full-sized 15 ml jar for $30.

This may work for some but I haven’t seen or felt that I would recommend this to any of my friends or anyone that I know.  But, that’s just me.

Have you tried Origins GinZing eye cream?  Tell me your results.

Fogless Beauty Shower Mirrors

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial. How many people have mirrors in their showers?

I never really thought about getting one until Cassani sent me one.

Once I saw it online, I knew it would be perfect for me to use while I use my Clarisonic in the shower.

I immediately put it in my shower once I took it out of the box.

  • 1 Stainless Steel Mirror Wall Mount
  • 1 Stainless Steel Shaving Razor Wall Mount
  • 1 Shatter-Proof Fogless Shower Mirror

I used the Stainless Steel Shaving Razor Wall Mount for my shower cap.

Simply place the stainless steel wall mounts where you want them in your shower, attach the shower mirror, shower cap or razor.
