The Truth about Listerine Foot Soak

I’ve been seeing the Listerine Foot Soak posts and how it claims to be the BEST Foot Soak to make your feet soft, smooth, and the dead skin just comes off effortlessly.

I wear my combat boots all day at work so my dogs are always barking by the time I get home.

I try to pamper myself once a month and go to the salon for a proper pedicure.  I love when they massage my calves when my feet soak.

So when I saw this Listerine & Vinegar Foot soak claiming to be the best damn thing, I had to give it a go and test it out!

I tried it on two separate occasions.  I tried it once with Scope and the second time with Listerine.

All you need are things you normally have around the house.

  • Listerine (1 cup)
  • Vinegar (1 cup)
  • Warm Tap Water (2 cups)
  • Container (large enough to fit your feet in)

You’re going to mix the listerine, vinegar, and water together in the container.  Then put your feet in for 20 minutes.

If you dont like the sight of feet, EXIT NOW!!

I know, I totally need to repaint my toe nails.

I get a lot of dead skin buildup on the balls of my feet and heels.

If I hear of anything that’s going to help get rid of them, I’m all about trying it out.

The 1st time I tried it, I used the Scope mouth wash and I didn’t get the results that everyone else was raving about so this weekend I used Listerine.

I know Listerine and Vinager have disinfectant properties and helps kill bacteria and germs.

So for my round with the Listerine foot soak, I did everything the same when I did the soak with Scope.  But this time, the Listerine stained my feet. So, if you’re getting ready for the beach, I would NOT recommend doing this!

I’m a flip-flopping wearing Floridian type of girl, so I’m glad that I didn’t have to go anywhere after I did this.

With any foot soak, I get my lil handy metal foot file and pumice stone.  But before I went to town on my feet with those, I took my feet out of the Listerine foot bath and took my thumb nail to see how easy the dead skin will come off.

Do you see how it stained my feet blue?

Don’t let the picture fool you.  I pretty much had to dig that out.  It didn’t come off as easy as I thought it would have with all the ravings about this soak.

I started going to town with my metal foot file and created this mess.

This is what happens when I do a regular warm water foot soak, so I’m not impressed with the Listerine Foot Soak.

It stained my feet and I literally had to scrub my foot soles all over with the pumice stone and scrub the hell out of them with a towel for a while!

I would say that at least my feet smell like I just brushed my teeth and that at least the Listerine and vinegar killed any germs that was on my feet.

My final verdict is to save your vinegar for cooking and cleaning and save your Listerine for mouth washing.

PROS:

  • I relaxed and did a foot soak

CONS:

  • Wasted products
  • Stained feet
  • Took longer because I had to get my stained feet back to normal
  • I can’t use my dish container again for potlucks at work……or can I???  I can finally say the southern saying and mean it, “I put my foot in it.”

Have you tried the Listerine Foot Soak?

How to get long-lasting vava voom eyelashes

How to get long lasting vava voom curled eyelashes all day!

Items needed:

  • Eyelash curler
  • Blow dryer
  • Mascara
  • Makeup wipe

Step 1:

Start off with a clean eyelash curler

Get your makeup remover wipe and clean off any left-over mascara residue from prior usage.

Step 2:

Get your brow dryer and eyelash curler

Heat your eyelash curler with your blow dryer for a few seconds.

Not to long though, the skin around our eyes are super skin.

Test to see how hot your eyelash curler is by placing a finger in it as if you were about to curl it.

Step 3:

With your eyelash curler, clamp them in from the base of your eyelashes and clamp lightly and quickly several times and lift up some to your desired curl.

Step 4:

Apply your mascara

Starting from the base of your lashes, wiggle side to side moving up towards the tips to ensure each and every lash gets mascara on them. I normally go up three sections.

Once the mascara dries, you can curl once more if you want. I do, just to get that vava voom glamorous look.

Voilà!!

Long lasting curls for all day! No need for false lashes!

The “IT” beauty application tool is now in the 2014 “IT” Pantone Color of the Year, Radiant Orchid!

Purple Beauty Blender

Every beauty enthusiast NEEDS this lil baby on their makeup vanity.

They’re so beautiful that I don’t even want to put foundation on it.

It you haven’t used the beauty blender yet, you are seriously missing out!

Don’t get me wrong.  I had my doubts for the longest time because you the steep price just for a sponge.  But let me tell you, this is not your ordinary sponge.  Many has tried to duplicate but all that I’ve tried, has failed to compare!

I don’t even pick up my Sigma F80 brush anymore.  In the back of my head, I keep envisioning the Swiffer Sweeper commercials where the broom is all alone in the dark and the “Baby come back” song starts to play.

The way you use the beauty blender is to first get it moist.  Hold it under the running water and squeeze out the excess water.  It just needs to be moist.  You can put your foundation directly on it, on a clean flat surface,  or dot your foundation around your face.  Then get your moist beauty blender and start stippling “bouncing”  your foundation where you want to enhance your beauty.  The beauty blender leaves your skin looking air brushed.

This is great to carry with you as well in your makeup bag or purse just in case your foundation starts to slide or if you have oily skin, you can use this to absorb the oil throughout the day.  With the lil bit of left-over foundation you may have from using it in the morning, you can smooth and refresh your look.  Just remember to wash your beauty blender when you get home before you use it for the next day.

Beauty Blender definitely looks good in Pantone Color of the Year, Radiant Orchid. The name fits the beauty blender too…….to make our skin even more radiant.
