My blog is about my experiences, mostly with beauty and fashion, so “May’s Life” sounded appropriate. I wanted to capture that in a beautiful and elegant way, so of course I translated it to French. Technically, the literal translation is “La Vie de May”, but I didn’t like how it sounded, so I switched it to “La Vie en May.” It’s also a play on the movie “La Vie en Rose.”
When did you start blogging & Why did you start?
I started blogging around 2 years ago, but I didn’t really keep up with it consistently and it was mostly random musings. Last year, I really wanted to give my blog a direction and I chose beauty and fashion since that’s what I’m most passionate about. Blogging is a huge way for me to share who I am with the world and learn from others as well. I’ve made some great friends along the way.
What is your favorite part of being a blogger?
Everything! Mostly that I get to work on my own time. Every word written on my blog is my own and it truly reflects me and who I am. I also really like working with brands/companies. It’s nice to be the first one to sample products, but the best part is supporting these small businesses and helping them increase their reach and audience.
What keeps you inspired to blog?
My readers! I love hearing what they have to say, the good and the bad. They motivate me to be more creative!
My HOLY GRAIL beauty product definitely has to be Revolution lipsticks from Urban Decay. I am all about the red lips and the revolution lipstick gives me the bold color with a moisturizing formula. Exactly what I need to feel confident and sexy!
Is there a beauty product that you’ve tried and will never try again? Why?
Yes, I’ve had a couple of those. My most recent one is the L’Oreal Infallible Le Gloss. The color was nice, but the smell was bad and the formula was very dry. Needless to say, after this winter, I need something a little bit more moisturizing.
If you could go back in time to 5 years ago, what beauty tip would you give yourself?
I would tell myself to build a routine. I was really bad. I never used to wash my face every day or clean off my makeup the night before out of laziness. I used to switch between a lot of products as well. It all had such a bad effect on my skin. I’ve learned to build a routine and to stick with a few key products. Thankfully, it’s worked and my skin is looking beautiful again!
What piece of advice would you give to new inspiring beauty bloggers?
Do what you love. Don’t worry about followers or no one noticing your blog. If you love beauty, it will show through your writing and your followers will come naturally. Don’t get discouraged, and don’t be afraid to ask for help!
I’ve really wanted to get a Keratin hair treatment FOREVER!! But the salon prices are RI-DUNK-U-LOUS!!
For normal length hair, it runs for at least $250 and up. My hair is nowhere near normal length hair.
Every time I go to the salon to get my hair highlighted and pampered I always roll my eyes on the inside when the words, “For your length………it’s going to be…….“ coming out of their mouths. All I hear is, “I hope you like ramen noodles because that’s all you’re going to be able to afford after I’m done with your hair.“
Me living here in Humid State of Florida, my hair has a mind of its own! The saying, “Long hair, Don’t care” really comes to play.
So Keratin treatments has always been in the back of my head. Keratin treatments are supposed to keep your hair in check with silky smoothness, taming the lion king frizz, and nourishes your strands all-in-one.
What woman with long wavy/curly hair in Florida don’t want that??
Here’s the infamous hair. DONT JUDGE

How to Use
You’re going to wash your hair twice with the Clarifying Deep Cleanser. *Make sure that you’re just lathering the product on your hair. No need to massage your scalp with the Clarifying Deep Cleanser.
While you’re lathering the cleanser to your hair, comb through your hair with your fingers, making sure that it doesn’t get tangled.
Towel dry your hair then apply the Action Keratin Smoothing Solution evenly throughout your strands with the gloves provided. Saturate your strands really good! *It comes with 2 different pump styles for your liking.
Let the Keratin Solution soak into your strands for 40-45 minutes to process.
Wash the Keratin Smoothing Solution out with the Clarifying Deep Cleanser one last time.
Blow dry your hair to seal the lock.
Straighten your hair with your flat-iron to seal in the lock.
I couldn’t stop playing and running my fingers through my hair and petting my hair because it seriously feels like a silk sheet.
The test is soon to come though…….
The test of how long this smoothness will last.
