Quest Protein bars

Quest Protein Bars

Quest Protein Bars

This morning at 5 o’clock I had my military PT (Physical Training) test. We get tested on our sit ups, push ups, and 1.5 miles. Yay fun right?! or Naw! ūüėČ

After I came home, my baby boy made me some coffee, I grabbed me one of my Quest protein bars, and I went ahead and put some hair dye in my hair since I was gonna have to take a shower to wash up all the sweat.

That’s what brings me to writing this post on Quest protein bars.

I’ve been working out at the gym with my good friend AKA Sole Sister Joanna and she loves to do “Arms Day”. Me, not so much!

I can do leg days for days! I have the worst upper body strength hence that’s where all my fat resides.

The first time I worked out with her on Arms Day, my arms were already feeling heavy and could barely lift them up while shopping after our workout. Damn you Joanna! No pain, no gain they say. It’ll be fun, she said. Shiiiiiiii, my arms felt like they gained 10 pounds they were so damn heavy!

That wasn’t all though, the post-post-workout (the days following) muscle soreness was nothing nice!

They call it the DOM (Delayed Onset Muscle soreness). FREAK is all I could say the next two wake ups. Urg!!

I did some heavy research to see what I could do to ease the pain. Well, by the time I started to research, it was already too late.

What I did find out is that I should have had me some protein right after my workout as well as before. It helps your muscles recover and grow. NOW THEY TELL ME!!

BTW, I had to get my flu shot the day after I worked out with my sole sister Joanna. I was NOT a happy camper. I don’t know about you but flu shots make me SORE! Double whammy! FUDGE!

The next time we worked out she gave me a Chocolate Peanut Butter Quest Protein bar. I’ve had several different protein bars before but didn’t like the tastes. A few years ago, I gave up meat, except for fish for Lent so I started testing out protein bars to get some protein in me. I didn’t try a Quest bar during that time though.

The Chocolate Peanut Butter Quest bar that Joanna gave me actually tasted great! I could eat them for a mid-day snack at work.

They are somewhat pricey though. They cost $2.39 a pop or $24.99 for a pack of 12.

I bought a few different kinds since she gave me the Chocolate Peanut Butter one, like White Chocolate Raspberry and Strawberry Cheesecake.

I have to hide these from my kids so they don’t eat it. Yea I know, I’m being greedy with my protein bars, but I need these bad boys for my workouts. I’m not trying to have my muscles sore like the first time. Oh Hell Naw! Ain’t Nobody Got Time For That!

Since chowing down on these Quest protein bars, I haven’t had the super muscle soreness as I did the first time. It’s a must-do now!

The Quest protein bars each have 20 grams of protein and depending on the flavor you choose there’s only 1-2 grams of sugar. That’s¬†pretty darn good!

These seriously taste delicious and snack-worthy.

I bought my 12 pack at the GNC store near me but you can also get them at the GNC website and at the Quest Nutrition website.

Oh yea, btw if you’re wondering how I did on my PT test, I PASSED! WOOT WOOT!!

What do you do to prevent the horrible Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness? Have you had Quest protein bars yet? What’s your favorite flavor?

Sunday Sally Beauty Haul

Sally Beauty Haul

I needed a few things from Sally Beauty for my hair so I rounded up my kiddos and went.

The products I purchased:

  • One n Only Shiny Silver shampoo
  • One n Only Shiny Silver conditioner
  • One n Only permanent hair dye in Very Light Honey Blond
  • Ion hair color developer
  • Extra wide tint brush
  • Proclaim Olive Moisturizing Oil Sheen spray (my daughters)
  • Seche Vite nail top coat
  • Nail buffer block
  • Beyond the Zone Color Bombz “Rock on Blue” (*not pictured but for my son)

I dye my hair honey blond so after a while it starts to show some brassiness that I don’t want so I read some reviews on the One n Only Shiny Silver shampoo and conditioner that will somewhat eliminate that from happening. We’ll see what happens with these.

I picked up another Seche Vite nail top coat, cause well…I don’t want to ever run out of it. I change up my manicures almost every three days so having a fast drying top coat is a must!

I bought me another One n Only hair color and Ion developer because my hair seriously grows out too quickly. I guess it’s in my genes.

You can never go wrong with having buffing blocks around the house to make sure my fingernails stays nice and smooth at all times. Again, my nails grows out quick as well. It’s a blessing yet I also have to always make sure that I keep a close eye out and keep them groomed.

My daughter decided to get her some moisturizing oil sheen for her hair and my son wanted to get some ¬†Rockin’ Blue hair.

**Side note: I recently WON Phyrra’s oVertone Giveaway¬†and I selected the color Extreme Teal so my son is gonna be ecstatic to receive that. I’ve hosted giveaways, but this is my first time ever winning one!! I was super excited when she contacted me saying I was one of two winners!

Well Beauties, that is my small Sunday Sally Beauty Supply Haul.

Here’s a picture of my son with his Blue ROCKER hair.

Tatcha Luminous Dewy Skin Mist

Tatcha Luminous Skin Mist

I’ve fallen in love with the Tatcha Brand and I want to own everything they have! I love Asian skin care and Tatcha has proven to me that they have what it takes to get my Filipina skin back to its radiant self.

The packaging of all of the Tatcha products are luxurious and vanity display worthy.

Facial mists have been all the rave lately. So the Luminous Dewy Skin Mist was my latest purchase from Tatcha.

Luminous Dewy Skin Mist comes in a semi ombre lavender colored glass container with a gold rim and spray pump.

The liquid skin mist product itself inside looks like a watered down milky mist.

Without harsh skin-drying ingredients like alcohol, Tatcha Luminous Dewy Skin Mist has: Water, Glycerin, Squalane (Olive Origin), Cyclopentasiloxane, Propanediol, Triethylhexanoin, Polyglyceryl-2 Diisostearate, PPG-5-ceteth-10 Phosphate, Trideceth-12, Sodium Lauroyl Lactylate, Sorbitan Stearate, Ethylhexylglycerin, Oryza Sativa (Rice) Germ Oil, Behenyl Alcohol, Glyceryl Stearate SE, Fragrance (Natural), Camellia Japonica Seed Oil, Alcohol, Inositol (Rice Extract), Sericin (Silk Extract), Camellia Sinensis (Green Tea) Leaf Extract, Chondrus Crispus (Red Algae) Extract, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract, Zizyphus Jujuba Fruit Extract, Panax Ginseng Root Extract, Scutellaria Baicalensis Root Extract, Algae Extract, Royal Jelly Extract, Thymus Serpillum Extract, Sodium Hyaluronate, Phenoxyethanol.

Formulated without:
Parabens, Mineral Oil, Synthetic Colors, Synthetic Fragrances, Sulfate Detergents, Urea, DEA, TEA or Phthalates.

Tatcha Luminous Dewy Skin Mist

You can see the luminous goodness in the picture above.

I have combination skin so I have been wearing Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation as of late so it keeps my oily skin at bay, but at the same time I don’t want to have a really matte finish on my skin. After I’ve applied my face of the day, I’ll spritz 3-4 perfectly misted pumps to my face to give it a semi dewy look.

It is somehow engineered to give off the most evenly spread out mists. It doesn’t leave droplets on your skin. Once it touches your skin it gets easily absorbed to give us that naturally dewy refreshed look.

Tatcha Luminous Dewy Skin Mist

This is now in my daily skin care ritual.

I’ve never feel in love with a skin care line as much as I have with Tatcha and I’m so, my skin is so grateful that I’ve found this beauty skin care line to fall in love with.

The only con that I can think of for this product is that I’m scared that it may break in my purse on my regular everyday outings since it is in a glass container. Other than that, this facial mist is here to stay as a staple in my skin care routine.

Where to purchase:

Tatcha’s website HERE.

40 ml’s of Tatcha goodness for $48.

Have you tried any of the Tatcha skin care line?
