Today I wanted to share with you my thoughts on the Zoya 2014 Spring Naturel Collection and Zoya’s Nail Treatments.
If you’ve been following my posts about Zoya nail polishes, then you’ve seen that I fell in love with the colors of the Naturel collection because these are all colors that I can wear in my uniform at work. Due to me being in the military, we have to wear neutral colors that sets the professional image and to be able to feel feminine at the same time. If I have to wear combat boots all day, I want to feel like a woman as well.
Enough about that.
I purchased the Zoya Naturel collection once it hit online!
I have worn each color from the nail collection at least once.
I also have the Zoya Color Lock Nail Treatment System and used it with each color from the Naturel collection.
In the Naturel Nail collection the colors are from Left to Right in the picture above on the top shelf are: Chantel, Taylor, Rue, Brigitte, Odette, and Normani
Now I wore each of the colors for at least a week. I get a little antsy with switching up the colors because I don’t like to have on the same color for long. Without the Color Lock System on my nails, I had some chipping. Not a lot but there were some. With the Color Lock System, there were no chipping but slight fading at the tips from typing and everyday dealings.
With the Taylor nail polish, there was some bubbling with the Color Lock System, but with just the color, it didn’t bubble. So, I think something with the Taylor nail polish and the Color Lock System just don’t get along with each other. I tried that twice and the same results happened with the bubbling.
My favorite color from the Zoya Naturel collection is Normani.
Overall, I’m in love with this collection and I would and have recommend it to others, especially women in the military.
I used two coats for a full opaque coverage.
Make sure you search my other posts on the Zoya Naturel collection here on the website.
I’ve had the Smashbox Halo HD Foundation SPF 15 since late summer but I’m finally getting around to review it. I know, I’m such a slacker! Let me start off with that I’m combination skin but more on the oily side in the summertime and more on the dry side in the wintertime. I was matched to the Shade #6. I’m actually in-between 6 and 7 but I bought the 6 because I had the Smashbox BB cream with SPF 35 in Medium at home. I mixed the two of them together to get the perfect match for my skin tone. The extra SPF is a plus mixing them together too. Now that it’s wintertime, I lost most of my Florida sun induced tan so I’m back to my natural Filipina tan. Now I’m just wearing the Smashbox Halo HD Foundation SPF 15 by itself. Now let’s get into the down and dirty details of the Smashbox Halo HD Foundation. Shades: The Halo HD Foundation line has a total of 10 shades to choose from.
Natural Vanilla for fair complexions
Warm Vanilla for fair/light complexions
Light beige for light complexions
Light warm beige for light complexions
Golden beige for light/medium complexions
Warm medium beige for medium complexions
Golden medium beige for medium complexions
Natural tan for medium/dark complexions
Dark golden tan for dark complexions
Natural deep cocoa for dark complexions
When you go browsing for your shade, get matched up and put some on and in about 10-15 minutes go to natural lighting to make sure it’s a match. When ever I go to get matched, I grab one of their mirrors and go outside the store in the daylight to make sure it’s a match. I even ask by-passers outside to see if they can tell a difference. 🙂
Coverage: It’s a buildable sheer to medium coverage. I have several beauty marks and acne scars on my face so I build it to medium coverage and it does well in covering them up. It blends in well.
Consistency/Finish: Smashbox says that this is the first foundation with 100% Liquid Light Technology completely evens out skin for a total natural and luminous finish. With this HD formula they are staying ahead of the game of the ever-changing photo technology. The formula is supposed to be undetectable to the naked eye. In the summer, my oily skin didn’t do well with this without a setting powder. When I used my setting powder, I only had to touch up a couple of times. Now during the wintertime, it’s fine without a setting powder. Here is a Before & After picture of me with Smashbox Halo HD Foundation. Mind you, like I said, I have beauty marks and acne scars.
I was recently sent a bottle of Freya ™ Scandinavian Skin Science Intensive Anti-Aging Serum from Freya ™ and Mommerce to test out and give my down and dirty opinions on it. I’m so glad that they did! I wouldn’t have tried this product otherwise, because I’ve never heard of the brand before.
Now look at this gorgeous bottle! The packaging itself is pure beauty!
It comes in a beautiful 30 ml/ 1 fl oz Aquamarine glass pump bottle. It’s the epitome of a luxury skin care product.
Packaging: Like I stated above, it comes in a refreshing aquamarine colored 30 ml glass bottle. They chose the perfect color for this product, especially this is an Arctic Antioxidant Correction product. The color of the bottle just makes you happy by looking at it.
It has a pump that dispenses the perfect amount of anti aging serum out. The bottle itself is quite heavy, so it doesn’t feel generic or cheaply made like some others.
Consistency/Finish: It is thick, off-white in color, and smooth, which is great because a little goes a long ways. I just use one pump of the Freya ™ Intensive Anti-Aging Serum. The finish is hydrating and illuminating. It also has a light and refreshing fragrance. I look forward to putting this on my face and neck.
I’ve been using Freya ™ Intensive Anti-Aging Serum for three (3) weeks now. I use it twice daily. Once in the morning after I wash my face and again right before bed after I wash my makeup off.
I only use one (1) pump for my face and neck. Like I said, a little goes a long ways and I want this bottle to last as long as possible.
I pump out the product on my middle finger and tap it with my other middle finger and I dab it on each side of my forehead, temples, below my eyes, cheeks, nose, chin, and neck.
Then I just tap it all over my face and neck softly with my pointer, middle, and ring fingers together without tugging and stretching my skin. I let in absorb and penetrate in my skin for a minute then afterwards I apply a daily moisturizer.
When I apply it on before bed, I do the same, but I add my prescription acne cream in the routine. (I haven’t had any problems with mixing the three products together.)
Durability: For me, I can feel the fullness and hydration of my skin all day. I have combination more on the oily side type of skin in the summertime and combination skin in the winter.
For the product itself, the Freya website states:
When used according to instruction, each Freya product is designed to last approximately 60 days. An unopened container stored in a cool place will last up to 3 years. An opened container will remain good for 9 months.
Since I haven’t heard of this brand prior to me receiving it, I went to their website to read more about it. Now that I’m in my 30’s, I’m taking care of my skin better than I did when I was younger. I’m always looking for skin care products. I live in Florida, so we get tons of sun, beach winds, coldness, and this year, it actually snowed and had freezing rain. We get a lot of different environment elements here. So, I’m paying more attention to my skin care routine and regimen. I just wished that I started earlier, like in my early 20’s. Better late than never though!
On the Freya website is states:

I purchased this Aveeno Stress Relief Moisturizing Lotion. I’ve been using it for a week now and I love it.
I purchased it at a local grocery store. They didn’t have the one that I used to use, Aveeno Creamy Oil, but this will do for now.
I also have eczema so moisturizing my skin is a must. So, if you have eczema, I highly encourage you to start moisturizing your body if you don’t already.
After I shave in the shower and get out, I put this all over my body and it makes my skin super soft and smooth. It’s real important now to moisturize in the winter months because this coldness sucks out the moisture from our bodies and makes us ashy, regardless what our ethnicity is.
My skin is still super soft in the mornings when I wake up. I can totally feel the difference when I don’t put body lotion on after the shower. I’ll take super smooth skin over dry, itchy skin any day. Even if it takes us a couple of extra minutes to get ready, I’m fine with it.
On the Aveeno ® Moisturizing Lotion bottle it states:
This unique lotion helps to calm and relax you as you massage it into your skin, while moisturizing to leave skin soft and smooth. Aveeno ® combines the calming scents of lavender and essential chamomile and ylang-ylang oils with the soothing properties of natural colloidal oatmeal – long known to hold in moisture. This naturally nourishing, non-greasy formula absorbs quickly and is blended with rich emollients to moisturize for a full 24 hours.
Aveeno® Stress Relief Moisturizing Lotion helps improve your well-being by calming and relaxing you, while providing long-lasting moisturization.
I love the mild scent of this lotion. If your nose is sensitive, I would smell it before purchasing it. Just like everything that has a scent, you want to make sure that you can tolerate the scent, especially if you’re going to put this on your whole body.
I love the Aveeno ® brand. I love how it has the oatmeal factor in it. Plus, you can purchase this at practically any drug store or grocery store and it doesn’t cost that much.
