It’s springtime and summer is just around the corner and that means it’s time to break out the flip flops if you haven’t already done so. That also means that we want our feet looking and feeling smooth!
I’m a Filipino Floridian so it’s second nature to slip into my flip flops when I’m not wearing my combat boots in uniform. I wear my combat boots at least 10 hours a day so you can just imagine how comfortable it is to take them bad boys off and let my feet breathe in some flip flops when I get home.
I’m not proud to say this but my feet hasn’t always been smooth. I mean, when me and my friends used to go out to get pedicures, they would always bring out the big dawg tools for my feet! I get calluses on the balls and backs of my feet due to me wearing my combat boots.
I’ve seen the commercials and other bloggers talk about the Amope but I just didn’t want to spend the $49+ for it. Until one day I received an email from CVS with a 20% savings on a shopping trip. Once I received that email, the Amope was the first thing I thought of! I jumped my happy butt in my truck and went straight to CVS! I also picked up some Essie nail polishes, some exfoliating gloves for the shower/bath, and some cotton rounds for when I take my nail polishes off my nails.
Now let’s get into the good stuff!
Amope is battery-powered and the removable/refillable filer has microgranulates that removes your hardened callused skin. You can do use this all in the comfort in your own house.
Yea I know, it’s something we really don’t like talking about but come on, not all of us are blessed with year-round smooth feet. We gotta do what we gotta do!
The filer is gentle to my skin. I know sometimes at the nail salon, they can get a little rough when it comes down to removing my calluses to the point where it hurts and is tender and red! So, the first time I used my Amope I was super careful but it worked out so easily that I didn’t have to worry.
It is a little loud but not to the point that it’s annoying. I’ve been using mine for almost 7 weeks now and I just do it while I’m on my couch watching my shows before I jump in the shower. I do however, put a towel under my foot while I’m using it.
You’ll see it working instantly by seeing tiny white dust like powder moving around. I just move the Amope slowly all around the bottom and back of my feet until it’s nice and smooth and I can’t feel anymore calluses.
After I’m done using it, I detach the filer and get a toothbrush (used solely for this purpose) and run them both under warm water and clean the file then let it air dry on a paper towel.
BUT that’s not all that I use my Amope for. My babes Jason likes to work out without gloves so his hands get calluses from weight lifting So one night he let me use it on his hands and he loved how they came out! So now when he comes home from the gym, he tells me it’s time to make them smooth again. 😁
I’m glad that I finally broke down and bought this!
I told you how I get them smooth but find out how I get them soft.
The Amope I have is for use on dry skin but now they have one that you can use on wet or dry skin.
They also have an Amope to file, buff, and smooth out your nails that I bought as well on a different shopping trip but I’ll save that for another post.
I found that you can get them cheaper at Amazon.
How are you getting ready for flip flop season?
