How I tamed my super dry lips due to Accutane
Oh My Word, the second week into my Accutane acne treatment, my lips went into overdrive with DRY lips! Damn you Accutane!
I seriously didn’t want to leave my house and go out in public because of the way my lips looked and felt!
I was reaching for my eos lip balms constantly! It didn’t matter how many times I tried to moisturize them with the eos, the dryness and peeling of my lips weren’t budging.
I finally received my Tatcha Gold Camillia Lip Balm in the mail and I had to put it on before I could take pictures of it untouched.
Tatcha describes it as:
As you all know I love my Tatcha products. This was the perfect time to try this lip balm. The gold left on the top of the balm itself, breaks and crumbles as you rub the balm with your finger. It’s there to add just a little bit of shimmer and luxury to your lips. I didn’t care for all the luxury at the time. I just wanted smooth lips again. My dry lips was THAT serious!
If you’ve taken or currently on Accutane, then you know my pain and frustration. Just see for yourself.
Look at that dry madness and this is with eos lip balm on! This is just in my second week of a 5-6 month treatment plan. I was not going to have my lips looking crazy like this for too long!
I had to find a lip balm that was going to get my lips back into shape.
Every time I had to speak to someone, all I could think about is how disgusting my lips looked and felt. I was so self-conscious and embarrassed on how my lips looked.
If you all knew me in the flesh, walking around and talking to everyone, I felt so discouraged to talking to anyone without thinking what was going on in their head about my lips. I bet they wanted to run to the closest store and buy me a tub of Vaseline.
Now you see why I hurried up and slathered this balm on my lips before taking pictures of the untouched package? This baby was going on my lips and it went on without hesitation!
The Tatcha Gold Camellia Lip Balm, just as all of Tatcha’s products, are beautifully packaged and with elegance.
I’m sure if my lips weren’t begging for some moisture, I would have been flauting my, “My lip balm is more beautiful than yours” Tatcha Lip Balm. But Hell, my finger couldn’t get to my lips fast enough!
With the colder weather here and in combination with me being on Accutane, my lips were THRISTY for moisture!
After that night and a day, my lips were singing, “Hallelujah!” and was back to as normal as they could be. You can still see where my lips peeled. The lip balm soaked into my lips and the dead peeling skin was able to peel off without hurting me.
Thank You Tatcha for creating this lip balm!! My lips Thanks you! The poor bystanders Thanks you!
The Tatcha Gold Camellia Lip Balm comes beautifully packaged in a pull out drawer. The jar has the Tatcha emblem on top with a see-through lid to see the luxurious gold leaf.
The balm itself is an almost gel-like balm that just melts onto your lips as you apply it.
I don’t really care for the gold leaf, but it does give it that extra touch.
I just rubbed the whole top of the balm to break up the gold leaf because I just wanted the balm itself.
It’s also not the average size of your everyday lip balm. It’s 8 g/0.28 oz’s.
Here’s what it looks like in the palm of my hand so you can see the sizing of it.
It’s still small enough to carry in your pocket though. I accidentally left this at home one day while I went to work and boy did my lips curse at me! My lips started to go back to the dryness and when I finally got home, I went straight to it so I can apply it on my lips again. I now make sure I keep this baby with me at ALL TIMES! My lips are not about to relapse to the dry state it was in.
This is my lips best friend at the moment.
As much as I apply this baby on, I still haven’t made a dent in my jar. I know this is going to last me a while. That’s good because it’s not the cheapest of lip balms. At $36, this luxurious lip balm is going to last and keep my lips at bay.
So, if you’re on the Accutane acne treatment, I HIGHLY suggest you give Tatcha Gold Camellia lip balm your business.
You can get it at Tatcha.
Until Next Time Dolls!
