Smashbox Halo HD Foundation
I’ve had the Smashbox Halo HD Foundation SPF 15 since late summer but I’m finally getting around to review it. I know, I’m such a slacker! Let me start off with that I’m combination skin but more on the oily side in the summertime and more on the dry side in the wintertime. I was matched to the Shade #6. I’m actually in-between 6 and 7 but I bought the 6 because I had the Smashbox BB cream with SPF 35 in Medium at home. I mixed the two of them together to get the perfect match for my skin tone. The extra SPF is a plus mixing them together too. Now that it’s wintertime, I lost most of my Florida sun induced tan so I’m back to my natural Filipina tan. Now I’m just wearing the Smashbox Halo HD Foundation SPF 15 by itself. Now let’s get into the down and dirty details of the Smashbox Halo HD Foundation. Shades: The Halo HD Foundation line has a total of 10 shades to choose from.
- Natural Vanilla for fair complexions
- Warm Vanilla for fair/light complexions
- Light beige for light complexions
- Light warm beige for light complexions
- Golden beige for light/medium complexions
- Warm medium beige for medium complexions
- Golden medium beige for medium complexions
- Natural tan for medium/dark complexions
- Dark golden tan for dark complexions
- Natural deep cocoa for dark complexions
When you go browsing for your shade, get matched up and put some on and in about 10-15 minutes go to natural lighting to make sure it’s a match. When ever I go to get matched, I grab one of their mirrors and go outside the store in the daylight to make sure it’s a match. I even ask by-passers outside to see if they can tell a difference. 🙂
It’s a buildable sheer to medium coverage. I have several beauty marks and acne scars on my face so I build it to medium coverage and it does well in covering them up. It blends in well.
Smashbox says that this is the first foundation with 100% Liquid Light Technology completely evens out skin for a total natural and luminous finish. With this HD formula they are staying ahead of the game of the ever-changing photo technology. The formula is supposed to be undetectable to the naked eye. In the summer, my oily skin didn’t do well with this without a setting powder. When I used my setting powder, I only had to touch up a couple of times. Now during the wintertime, it’s fine without a setting powder. Here is a Before & After picture of me with Smashbox Halo HD Foundation. Mind you, like I said, I have beauty marks and acne scars.
I hope that my Smashbox Halo HD Foundation Review helped you out some.
