It’s a CC Cream Craze

Studio Gear CC Cream SPF 20 REVIEW

First there were BB creams, and now there are CC creams! It’s an Alphabetical Cream Craze!

Studio Gear CC Cream

This is the 1st CC Cream that I’ve tried.  I have several BB Creams.  With us just having been through Fall/Winter, I chose to go back to my medium/full coverage foundations. Now that it’s  “supposed” to be Spring and soon-to-be Summer, I’ll go for light foundations because I’m in a very humid part of the world and I don’t want my foundation melting off my face and looking crazy on the streets and beaches.

My skin type is Oily so I’ll say this is for all skin types. I haven’t had any problems with it clogging up my pores.  It’s light based and the texture is nice and smooth.  The unique thing about Studio Gears CC Cream is that it comes out as an off-white colored cream.  Once you spread it though, it changes shades to blend into your skin.

It comes in 3 shades: Linen, Natural, and Wheat.

I went for the Wheat shade since I’m a medium shaded Doll. (MAC NC30-35, Hourglass Immaculate in Honey, Dior 400)

So like i said before, this is a unique formula using microencapsulated pigments which offer up to 72 hours of hydration.
Hydrating CC Cream transforms and enhances your complexion in an incredibly light, smooth formula. This foundation simultaneously fights aging, retains moisture, and covers and treats blemishes with a non-oily, perfectly radiant finish.

The way that I’ve been applying it is that I place the Studio Gear CC cream on a candle glass topper and use my Sigma F80 or Beauty Blender to spread and apply.

You see how it’s already changing shades?

As of now, since it’s still pretty cool outside, I’m still going for medium to full-coverage so I put the Studio Gear CC Cream on the areas that I need more moisturizing.  I recently used a product that made my skin have a full-blown anxiety attack on me. (It’s not a pretty site at all!)  Then I apply my foundation over the Studio Cream CC Cream.

It’s lasted me at least 12 hours coverage without any creasing or shifting.   I take my makeup off right when I get home so I’m sure it lasts longer.

The Key Benefits:

  • Prevents fine lines and wrinkles with collagen-building ingredients
  • Restores skin elasticity by promoting moisture retention
  • Brightens and illuminates skin with a non-oily, complete coverage application.
The only downfall is that it only has the 3 shades to choose from.  I wouldn’t recommend it to darker shaded individuals. Hopefully they’ll create more shades in the near future.
