I’ve been seeing the Listerine Foot Soak posts and how it claims to be the BEST Foot Soak to make your feet soft, smooth, and the dead skin just comes off effortlessly.
I wear my combat boots all day at work so my dogs are always barking by the time I get home.
I try to pamper myself once a month and go to the salon for a proper pedicure. I love when they massage my calves when my feet soak.
So when I saw this Listerine & Vinegar Foot soak claiming to be the best damn thing, I had to give it a go and test it out!
I tried it on two separate occasions. I tried it once with Scope and the second time with Listerine.
All you need are things you normally have around the house.
- Listerine (1 cup)
- Vinegar (1 cup)
- Warm Tap Water (2 cups)
- Container (large enough to fit your feet in)
You’re going to mix the listerine, vinegar, and water together in the container. Then put your feet in for 20 minutes.
If you dont like the sight of feet, EXIT NOW!!
I know, I totally need to repaint my toe nails.
I get a lot of dead skin buildup on the balls of my feet and heels.
If I hear of anything that’s going to help get rid of them, I’m all about trying it out.
The 1st time I tried it, I used the Scope mouth wash and I didn’t get the results that everyone else was raving about so this weekend I used Listerine.
I know Listerine and Vinager have disinfectant properties and helps kill bacteria and germs.
So for my round with the Listerine foot soak, I did everything the same when I did the soak with Scope. But this time, the Listerine stained my feet. So, if you’re getting ready for the beach, I would NOT recommend doing this!
I’m a flip-flopping wearing Floridian type of girl, so I’m glad that I didn’t have to go anywhere after I did this.
With any foot soak, I get my lil handy metal foot file and pumice stone. But before I went to town on my feet with those, I took my feet out of the Listerine foot bath and took my thumb nail to see how easy the dead skin will come off.
Do you see how it stained my feet blue?
Don’t let the picture fool you. I pretty much had to dig that out. It didn’t come off as easy as I thought it would have with all the ravings about this soak.
I started going to town with my metal foot file and created this mess.
This is what happens when I do a regular warm water foot soak, so I’m not impressed with the Listerine Foot Soak.
It stained my feet and I literally had to scrub my foot soles all over with the pumice stone and scrub the hell out of them with a towel for a while!
I would say that at least my feet smell like I just brushed my teeth and that at least the Listerine and vinegar killed any germs that was on my feet.
My final verdict is to save your vinegar for cooking and cleaning and save your Listerine for mouth washing.
- I relaxed and did a foot soak
- Wasted products
- Stained feet
- Took longer because I had to get my stained feet back to normal
- I can’t use my dish container again for potlucks at work……or can I??? I can finally say the southern saying and mean it, “I put my foot in it.”
Have you tried the Listerine Foot Soak?
